These Terms & Conditions (the “Terms”) govern your use of the Sound Read Spell website and learning service (the “Service”). By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Who we are

The Service is provided by [REPLACE: legal trading name] of [REPLACE: registered address, if applicable], United Kingdom. You can reach us at soundreadspell@gmail.com.

2. The Service

Sound Read Spell provides interactive phonics, reading fluency and spelling practice aligned with the UK National Curriculum, designed for young children to use with a parent or carer.

The Service is provided for personal, non-commercial use in a single household, or to individual teachers as part of our current pilot programme. Schools and other organisations that wish to license the Service for whole-school or commercial use should contact us at soundreadspell@gmail.com.

3. Eligibility and accounts

  • Accounts may only be created by adults aged 18 or over.
  • You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you give us, for keeping your password confidential, and for all activity on your account.
  • You must notify us immediately at soundreadspell@gmail.com if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.

4. Free trial

New accounts receive a free trial period (currently 7 days) with full access to the Service. No payment details are required to start the trial. After the trial period ends, continued access requires an active subscription.

5. Subscriptions and payment

  • Subscription pricing, billing cycle and payment methods will be shown to you before you commit to a subscription.
  • Subscriptions continue until cancelled. You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
  • We use a regulated third-party payment processor. We do not store your card details.
  • If a payment fails, we may suspend your access until it is resolved.

6. Your right to cancel (consumer rights)

If you are a consumer in the UK, you have a statutory right to cancel your subscription within 14 days of first signing up, under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. By starting your trial and accessing the Service immediately, you acknowledge that the 14-day period may run from the date of purchase and that if you use the Service during that period we may charge you for the portion used.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Share your account credentials or resell access to the Service.
  • Copy, scrape, or redistribute our content, audio, images or curriculum materials.
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, probe, or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure.
  • Use the Service for anything unlawful, or in a way that harms other users.

8. Intellectual property

All content on the Service — including text, audio, images, curriculum sequencing, and software — is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service for personal household use while your account is active.

9. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the Service available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may add, remove or change features, or stop offering the Service, with reasonable notice. If we make a material change that disadvantages you, we will let you know by email.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is an educational aid designed to support learning; it does not replace formal schooling, an educational professional, or a qualified assessment. We make no promise of any particular educational outcome.

11. Our liability to you

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded under English law.

Subject to that, we are not liable to you for any loss of profits, loss of data, or any indirect or consequential loss arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service. Our total liability to you in any 12-month period will not exceed the amount you have paid us for the Service in that period.

12. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you materially breach these Terms or if we are required to do so by law. You may close your account at any time by contacting us.

13. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use your personal data and forms part of these Terms.

14. Changes to these Terms
